Albanian farmers getting trained about HACCP certification.
December 2015 - ‘Assisting Key Agriculture Standards’, regional project ended the last training phase in Albania. CBS in coordination with AgBizMk, a Macedonian partner implemented the 3rd training phase of the regional USAID project. 23 agribusinesses in Korca and 21 experts in Tirana participated in 2-day HACCP training.
The workshop which was led by Stojadin Stojanovic, a HACCP expert from Macedonia raised strong interest from both inspectors and farmers or producers. And all certifications from Global Gap, HACCP to ISO 22000, on their basis they all mean one thing: food security.
For the first time in Albania, USAID Regional will provide Global GAP certification to 5 Albanian agribusinesses, starting from early January 2016. The implementation phase is to be completed within a 6-9 month timeframe, as the companies will guarantee better quality products with higher standards. The Global GAP certification is a great quality management system for Albanian agro-processors to significantly increase exports to European countries.
