SmartCapital program has been the most impactful economic growth project in support of Agriculture, SMEs and other cross-sectors in Albania. The program was financed by USAID and implemented by CBS. SmartCapital provided direct technical assistance to over 1,000 agribusinesses, farmers, SMEs and startups, generating $59 million in combination of new investments and financing, creating over 1,500 new jobs, thus boosting an essential sector of the country’s economy.
At SmartCapital project, a team of experienced Business Advisors supports Agribusinesses with technical expertise. Thanks to this assistance, $Millions of new Investments have become real opportunities to agribusinesses and local government.
Through this component, SmartCapital helped agribusinesses get a digital way of services that reduce their time, efforts and costs. LORES, a digital loan referral system for SMEs and AgroTrade, an innovative e-commerce platform are transforming the culture of the development of agribusiness sector in Albania.
SmartCapital offered a more specialized approach to growing with such services as Business Plans, Digital Marketing, International Food Standards Certifications and Export Readiness services to break the traditional barriers of SMEs.
After 5 years of its implementation, SmartCapital has transformed the sector, by bringing a growth perspective that will impact the development of the Albanian agriculture in the years to come. This level of development was reached through constant innovation, adaptation of digital platforms and out-of-the box solutions.
